Why do I do this...

Why? To be better...

1. I promised (only a few people will know what this means, and if you don't, you will).
2. I am better than this.

Adversity causes some men to break.

So this will be my first blog entry!

Why a blog? I asked myself this exact same question! Basically it is hinged to the heading. Right now as always adversity stands in the way of success and or failure.

Weight loss for me is a difficult journey and I am going to use this as an outlet for motivation, tracking and hopefully over time, as a tool to gain knowledge.

All comments, negative or positive are welcome....you are probably thinking why do I welcome negativity...because its real....its all around us. I/we have to deal with it daily, and it wouldn't be a true reflection if somebody didn't try to trip me up once and awhile, which brings me to my topic.

The depths of January and revitalization of goals.

So what can be done about this tough time of year..I say dig down, and don't give up. Recently I have been using quotes for inspirational reason and the two following are helping me refocus my energy. I will let you know if they help!

Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records. -William Arthur Ward

When you're going through Hell, Keep going. - Sir Winston Churchill

Now to get to it..updates to follow!!

  2. Hey Gunnie! I know your fat fight all too well seeing I lost 155 pounds and kept it off for 3 years now. But my fight is not over it has become harder. I still need to loose so much more! I have my age against me plus diabetes and being a woman. Men have it easier then women. I know that if I just watch my calories a little better and increase my exercise a little more I could probably do it. Maybe we can help each other!

  3. yes Karebear...I hope anything I post in the future will help...there is great strength in numbers!! We all must do things our own way but if there is one thing that helps--take it, use it, and pass it on I say!!

  5. Here's a quote for you:

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

  6. Welcome! Enz at Downward Trenz suggested we stop by so I did. As a fellow 'guy' blogger, it is always great to see another male authored blog join the scene. Best wishes on your fitness effort and I hope you'll get a lot out of blogging.
